Day 12: From Mountains to Seas

25 Jun

Today, June 24th, we were all super excited to wake up at 4am to hike up one of Israel’s highest mountains, Masada. After arriving to the top of the mountain, we were greeted by one of the most beautiful and only sunrises I’ve actually woken up to see! It was an amazing experience and worth every hour of sleep that I lost ’cause of it! We then went to explore the rest of the mountain and King Herod’s luxurious palace there! After Masada, we hiked Ein Gedi, an oasis in the middle of the desert, to discover an amazing waterfall that we got the opportunity to swim under. After that we did one of my favorite things so far on the trip that I had been looking forward to the most, the Dead Sea! The Dead Sea was amazing except for when I got it in my eyes and was blinded for a few minutes. After all of our adventures at the Dead Sea, we retired to our bus to travel to Tel Aviv. The first sight of Tel Aviv was amazing; it was just like Los Angeles. We got to walk around for a little and see the sunset over the beach and the liveliness of Tel Aviv at night. It was extremely awesome and made me want to come back to experience more of what Tel Aviv has to offer. After that, we all went to our bedrooms and got some much needed sleep after being up for 17 hours straight!
